Think Again Before You Judge The Kardashian Family

The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder.

"Kardashian." It's a loaded name that invokes a lot of different emotions in people. For some, feelings of anger, and for others indifference. Most people view them as trashy reality TV stars that have no talent and are rich for no reason. I am here to present another point of view: the Kardashians have taken the cards life has dealt them and played them perfectly.

Not a week goes by where some Kardashian or Jenner is not making headlines. Whether it's a new relationship, a wardrobe malfunction, or a new makeup line, some member of the family is always being talked about. They say that "any publicity is good publicity" and the Kardashians really take that seriously. That's how they have become a household name. They got their start in reality TV that was cringey and scripted but has evolved into a brand, and they do not receive enough credit for this.

With the recent news that Kylie Jenner is on track to be the youngest self-made billionaire, she received a lot of backlash saying that she wasn't self-made. Though it's true that she was born into a well-known family, she could have just used the fame of her older sisters and done nothing about it. However, she took her place in the spotlight, combined it with a passion for makeup, and created a wildly successful cosmetics company.

The other sisters are just as successful in evolving their brands. Between Khloé's apparel company and Kim's perfume, cosmetics company, and game, along with each sister having subscription-based apps, these women work hard to stay relevant, and that is not talked about enough. Their unique styles are copied by millions of women across the world, illustrating the wide reach they have on their fan-base. I think it's time to stop talking about their rocky and immature pasts and focus on what they have created out of the mess.

Whether you love them or you hate them, their fame that has continued and grown for over a decade is admirable, to say the least. Sure, they still make mistakes and do questionable publicity stunts, but they are fearlessly themselves and continue to work hard to stay in the spotlight and find new ways to develop their brands.

It really is true what they say: "The devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder."

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
