Journaling: A skill for all ages.
Lacey Crichton

Journaling is a habit most people attribute to angsty teens, and wannabe writers. Journaling is something everyone should enjoy, because there are so many benefits to journaling.

1. Journaling gives you a sounding board to vet out all your problems, and help you see them in a more clear light.

2. Writing in a journal gives you a judgement free zone to vent, cry, curse, and swoon.

Whether it be at people, over people, things, and situations, the journal will never judge you.

3. It's scientifically proven that journaling will help you build, improve and retain important language skills far into old age.

4. If you choose to keep it, it provides a record for future generations of your adventures and misadventures.

5. Writing in a journal can provide necessary emotional healing.

By forcing you to take a good hard look at whatever hurt you, or is weighing on your mind, you are providing yourself with closure.

6. Journaling will help you with your self discipline.

By forcing yourself to set aside time each day to invest in yourself, you are creating a pattern of self discipline.

7. Setting goals and writing them down can help you hold yourself accountable to them.

8. Journaling can help improve your self confidence.

You'll give words to all your inexpressible emotions. Once you vet them out, the door opens to better communication skills. Once you feel that you are able to communicate effectively, your self confidence will sky rocket.

9. A journal will help you harness your creativity.

You will have a place to keep all those great ideas that you had, and can look back on them as reference when you need inspiration.

Well, There you have it - reasons journaling is good for you.

Now go out there and journal!

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer.
