Tonight is one of those nights that I look to both of my sides and just smile.
We are making memories that will last a lifetime. The giggles and smiles from everyone is such a good sight. The wonderful friendships is something I value greatly. The smell of the cooked food just brought out by our server. It is right off the grill searing hot. Tonight I had one of those moments where everything just seemed so right.
I took a step back and just looked and observed at what was going on around me. Then, I smiled full of excitement and I laughed! My friends looked at me and both laughed. It's funny, you know..how God had a way of making everything work out. Even if things are not the way we had hoped it would be, it doesn't matter you know. It does not matter because things are the way they should be...and that my friends is all I really want. God is so good and I am so blessed.
The night I was talking about was a warm summer Friday night in Ann Arbor, MI.
My two close friends and I went to a restaurant right on the campus of U-M and sat outside on the patio. I remember sitting out there watching the Friday spirit go around from person to person. There was so many people all around, and I loved it. The sound of music playing, people talking and laughing, the sight of cars going by and of course the occasional obnoxious guy that had a few too many. All of it was part of the back noise.
Essentially it was the perfect scene for an end-of-the-summer-outing.
As the evening approached night and the moon became visible, my energy mellowed down a bit. The noise slowly but surely became quieter and when our sever came back with our bills, I was ready for a nice walk through Downtown Ann Arbor back to the car. The night wasn't over yet but this was the highlight of it all. A great evening with my two close friends and a gracious walk.
