Have you been touched by TAG?

The demand for fashion customs is at an all time high this year and Touched by TAG is here for all of your styling necessities.

CEO and founder of JoonYah’s Styling Kingdom Troy Gaskins also goes by the name Touched By Tag. This past weekend Touched By Tag’s custom apparel has been continuously seen throughout FAMU’s homecoming week.

From custom fringe, distressed tees to killer outfits for the hottest events, Touched by Tag gets it right every time.

Gaskins’ passion for his work is what sets him apart from others. Long hours and late nights are two things that this CEO doesn't shy away from. When asked how he started his business and what it means to him, Troy had a lot to say.

“I took a week to myself and prayed the whole week for God to reveal my path to me. After sitting down and thinking about it, I realized that fashion was a part of my everyday life. After googling potential entrepreneur opportunities, I settled on being a stylist. It's personal for me, I like to get to know my clients and build a personal relationship with them which makes it easier for us to connect on a personal level as far as styling them goes,” says Gaskins.

“I feel like if you want something, you'll do whatever it takes to get it done. I'm dedicated to what I do, I have to be. Styling is therapeutic for me.”

Gaskins has an array of clientele varying from professors, to students and even community organizations. In addition to creating custom apparel, Touched by Tag also allows customers to purchase pre-picked outfits from “Tag’s Closet”. Whatever the demand, Touched by Tag can supply.

Valencia Houston, third-year chemistry major recalls her experience with Touched by Tag.

“Troy was amazing! He was very friendly and personal yet very professional. He made sure he took his time to understand your own sense of style and also the look you were going for. He's extremely creative. He took old clothes that I have not worn I forever, clothes that I actually forgot I owned and put them together in a way that made you feel like you were wearing a brand new outfit. Being styled by him was a great experience, I also gained a new friend”.

Third year Business Administration and Theatre and performing arts major Michelle Marva Johnson, also had great things to say about Touched by Tag.

“Troy is a very personable person. From seeing his work done on other people, I knew that he could definitely style but it was his personality, patience, dedication, and creativity that made me want to keep receiving his styling expertise. It was the best decision to get TOUCHED BY TAG!”

From simple and cute to bold and daring, Touched by Tag is here to help customers reach their full potential.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
