In This Article:

Jonathan Van Ness has quickly pushed his way into the hearts of America after starring on the show "Queer Eye."

People cannot help but love his eccentric personality. One second he's crying because he's so happy, the next he's spinning around the room like he has no care in the world.

The entire time I was bingeing "Queer Eye" on Netflix, I couldn't help but realize how similar Jonathan is to my college friends. It seemed like everything he said and everything he felt was so relatable, from him strutting around like a queen who knows that they deserve the world, to spending forever making his hair look amazing.

So it must be true then: Jonathan Van Ness' emotions are relatable for every college girl.

1. No way!

Every college girl knows what it's like to hear some juicy gossip from your friend. You're shocked but also totally want to know more.

2. Realizing you're basic.

No one wants to feel it, but you probably know what it's like to realize that you are super basic as you walk across campus in leggings, taking a selfie with an iced coffee in your hand.

3. Loving your flawless hair.

Finally the humidity is gone and you can straighten your hair so that it looks perfect. Except then you can stop flipping it around and touching it all the time.

4. Can you believe?

The famous Jonathan Van Ness phrase. Sometimes you can just NOT believe.

5. Struggling to function.

You always try to laugh it off, but we all know what it's like to fail to do something that every other person seems to be able to do without a problem.

6. Strutting into a bar like you own the place.

Sometimes you just know that your outfit, hair, face and attitude are all on point as you enter a bar on a weekend, so you can't help but strike a pose.

7. Everything is amazing.

There are just days when life seems to be on your side and you're constantly gushing about how absolutely amazing everyone and everything is.

8. Putting on perfume.

Every single girl who wants to smell nice has done the typical move where you spray perfume in the air and walk through it like a queen.

9. Crying over something that is too cute.

Whether it's a romantic comedy on the Hallmark channel or a really good dog in a park, you just need to cry about things that are precious.

10. Love, love, love.

You have to let your girlfriends know that you love them for always being there for you. Sometimes on the weekends you even say "I love you" to the random girl you just met in the bathroom.

11. Feeling yourself during crop top season.

Nothing is more rewarding than when you've been working out for months so that you can show off your toned body once the weather is perfect for a crop top.

12. Wanting to Netflix and chill.

College is exciting because everyone has a cute little dorm room, so you're just dying to find the person who wants to Netflix and chill with you.

13. I am a queen!

Every girl needs to wink at themselves in the mirror and tell themselves that they are a queen. Life can be hard. It's healthy to be your own #1 fan.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
