The New York Times published an article on October 9 reviewing the list of “more than 160 Republican leaders” who “don’t support Donald Trump." The list was comprised following Trump’s now infamous “grab them by the p***y” conversation caught on hot mic in 2005 on an Access Hollywood bus. The leaked audio proved to be the tipping point for many of these Republican leaders, many of whom have supported Trump only by saying they would vote for him simply to defeat the Democratic party's nominee, Hillary Clinton, while holding off on any extra vocal support of Trump.
On the other side, WikiLeaks, an organization that, according to their website, “publishes and comments on leaked documents alleging government and corporate misconduct," has continued their process of unleashing tens of thousands of communications from the email account of Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta. While the act of hacking should not be commended, the emails do contain a pandora's box of both dangerous and disgusting information that mainstream media news outlets are so carefully choosing to both conceal and discredit.
A lingering question arises: Where is the moral outrage from the left on Clinton?
The level of importance of the conditions surrounding these candidates is very high. Donald Trump, as I said earlier this month, is indecent, unknowledgeable, and unrepentant. The self-proclaimed serial adulterer Trump has never been expected to hold the level of principles and values needed to hold elected office — just take a look at his business and marriage history. This is why you saw a chunk of Republicans immediately repudiate Donald Trump from the outset, like conservative Utah Sen. Mike Lee who was instrumental in the Republican delegates' failed attempt to dethrone Trump at the GOP convention rules committee prior to the Republican Convention.
Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has been entrusted for over 30+ years to be a symbol of integrity and honor to this country, something she has clearly failed to do with the many miscalculated mistakes and purposeful policies.
There are no such Democratic Leaders willing to stand up to Clinton, however.
That’s because of the level of involvement from leadership at the top to the proven collusion with the media the Clinton campaign has formed. Day by day, as WikiLeaks continues to drip feed their already damning Pedestal emails, the media chooses to place heavy value on the disgusting yet insignificant comments Trump made in 2005 rather than actual substantive and outrageous information coming from the leaked emails. Here are just a few of the highlights:
- Collusion between State Department and Clinton Foundation
- Clinton camp concern over Obama knowledge of Hillary’s private server
- Hillary’s knowledge of Saudi Arabia and Qatar funding ISIS while still taking in millions from these countries
- Bill Clinton $1M dollar ‘birthday’ gift from Qatar
- Hillary calls for “hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders" in paid speech to foreign bank
- Clinton/media collusion
- Clinton campaign collecting data to discredit Bill Clinton rape accuser
- Clinton campaign pushing Obama/Muslim myth
- Clinton campaign mocking Catholics, Southerners, and ‘Needy Latinos’
- Clinton campaign planning Obama “hit” for cocaine use during 2008 campaign
These reports are insane. Just imagine for a moment if this was Mitt Romney in 2012. Would the media have allowed this to simply continue without the entire country knowing every last detail of these shockingly disgraceful reports? Of course not, but in order for there to be a double-standard, there must first be a standard. The left shows none by unifying behind Hillary without critique, while on the other side, the standard-bearer for the party that is supposed to value principle over personality continues to generously assist Clinton by offering more fodder for the media to eat up.
Trump claims the election is "rigged." This is wrong and dangerous. The only thing "rigged" is media treatment of Republicans versus Democrats, which is nothing new and something Trump should have known ahead of time. He should have been prepared with self-oppositional research to combat the media, which he of course declined. What was not to be expected or prepared for however, were the content of these emails, and with NewsBuster’s reporting an outstanding 7-to-1 ratio of "Trump tape" coverage versus WikiLeaks coverage, the media bias is now more clear than ever.
In an election year where both candidates take turns determining each other to be 'unfit' for whatever reason they feel applies at any given moment, judgements should remain consistent for both sides. While Republicans have come out in droves against Donald Trump, the same cannot be said for Democrats with Hillary Clinton, and that leaves more to be desired from the left.
