Last August, I went through sorority recruitment, and I can honestly say it has been the best choice I have made so far in my college career. I have met so many people and learned so many things that I will take with me through the rest of my life.
The girls I have met will be in my wedding, and I have only known them for roughly six months. We still have seven semesters to grow and learn together.
I knew going into this experience I would make some new friends and learn new things, but I did not know to what extent these things would happen. Sorority life is not just all partying, Lilly Pulitzer and meetings. It is so much more. I have learned things about myself I would have never found out.
I have learned about leadership, responsibility, time management and a million other little lessons I am not even aware of. I have learned that there are a lot of people out there who have it a lot worse than I do, and helping them is one of the best feelings in the world. Being a sorority woman is inspiring.
My sisters push me to be the best I can be, and are there to pick me up at my worst. I honestly do not know what I would have done with out all of my sisters during my first semester of college.
Knowing that I have over a hundred girls who would wake up at 2 a.m. if I needed them is one of the most powerful things I have ever been a part of, and I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world.
