We live in a political era with a lot of unprecedented happenings such as Globalization, technology changing the whole world of politics, and most of all having a former reality TV star that holds the most powerful position in the world. Millennials', and people, in general, need to start being more politically active.

According to the United States Census Bureau report, our generation now outnumbers the baby boomer generation, and we now have the power and thus the responsibility to figure out how to appropriately respond to these kinds of political issues. However, even when we want to do so our voices often get drowned out, and we do not feel like we are being heard. Individuals have a hard time making their voices heard so we must stand unified, in large numbers, with a clear message and even still our individual actions must be bold and loud.

The Political Activism Club (PAC) at Eastern University will attempt to provide this much needed unified and loud voice to the students of Eastern University. While Eastern is a very politically active community with several clubs like YACHT, Prison Ministry, Refuge, Students Against Human Trafficking (SAHT) and Earth Keepers. The Political Activism Club seeks to unify all of these voices to speak out on issues one at a time. PAC along with the incredible clubs previously mention are trying to make our voices on issues heard in a bigger and better way.

The club also seeks to promote the ability for students to act on issues aside from just having our voices heard. Many of the students on Eastern's campus love going to rallies, so why not support PAC in our mission to talk about issues, and to act on them together?

Finally, the leaders of PAC are here to help you find your voice. You do not have to be a political science major to participate nor do you have to be a specific religion. All are welcomed in this club even those who may not know where they stand politically yet. PAC:

Hopes to positively impact; the productive nature and level of discussions on controversial issues facing our community and society, the lives of every single human being including those most commonly disenfranchised and forgot about, the amount of transparency in all political institutions --so as to hold these institutions to higher ethical standards... (part of the mission statement of PAC).

So please help PAC fight for the issues you care most about by showing up this Thursday (January 26th) at Eastern University in the Baird Library at 7 p.m. This is where we will be picking our first topic to talk about, and begin a conversation on how to best approach creating positive, real change on this issue. Remember that change starts with us (The People). If we do not stand up for ourselves then who will?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
