4 Reasons To Join CycleBar

CycleBar is a low impact, high intensity work out which makes it appropriate for individuals of all ages. CycleBar provides very energetic and exciting cycling workouts. CycleBar is a rhythm-based musical workout, that is also a great full-body workout! I have been a member of the CycleBar at The Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky for about 6 months now and it is the best decision I have ever made! I have not only accomplished so many goals already but I have made so many new friends along the way!

The Cyclestars (the staff) are so helpful.

I remember the first time I walked through the doors, I felt scared and I felt nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I had never cycled before and I didn't really know anything about it! From the second I walked into the doors I felt welcomed. I remember the woman at the desk was so excited to see me and already knew my name which settled my nerves and made me feel so welcomed. She walked me through every step of the process from finding the right size in the cycling shoes to teaching me how to clip into the bike and was always ready to answer any questions I had! I knew from my first ride that I needed to come back.

The Cyclestars want you to succeed.

From the very first class, I was asked to create a goal for myself whether that was getting above a certain place in a class, burning a certain amount of calories, or generating so much power. I set a goal to one day be at least 11th in a class which typically has about 25 people in it. At the start of every class, they ask you to remember your goal and they continue to push you throughout the class by cheering you on individually or by just telling the class motivational quotes to keep us motivated. I knew that they wanted me to succeed and they celebrated me when I did succeed!

Not only does CycleBar improve your physical health but it improves your mental health as well.

During every class, one song is for you as an individual to reflect on why you are there, to reflect on your goals, and just to reflect on your life in general. This is a time when you put your physical goals aside and just focus on the inner you and how you feel. The Cyclestars always have a motivational message to share and always give you motivational quotes to live by. One of the quotes I will always remember is "Feel the fear, and do it anyway". I love this quote because I can apply it to every aspect of my life and it is exactly what I did when I joined. I can always count on CycleBar to turn my day around when I am having a bad day.

It improves your physical health.

When I joined CycleBar, I had no intention of joining just to lose weight, I just wanted to feel better and be more confident in my own skin. Not only have a lost a few extra pounds but I have never felt better physically. I am not groggy when I wake up in the mornings, I am always ready to start my day on a positive foot. I no longer get headaches that I used to suffer from and I have gained so much muscle not only in my legs but in my upper body as well.

Although these are the reasons I joined, I hope they inspire you to join too! Your first ride at CycleBar is always free, so I invite you to go to their website or social media pages and sign up for a ride! I promise you will not regret your decision!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
