11 John Mulaney GIFs That All College Students Can Relate To

Life is turning into one big standup...

John Mulaney is one of my all-time favorite comedians because he manages to get political, existential, and analytical all while maintaining a lovable and approachable image - something I have yet to master. If you have not watched Mulaney's stand up Netflix specials, do yourself a favor and call in sick to work tomorrow and "treat yo self" to the funniest three hours of your life. I think the reason I like John Mulaney so much is because he is so relatable. He grew up in a middle class lifestyle, and experienced much of the same things we experienced. Here are 11 John Mulaney GIFs that parallel college life perfectly:

1. When the high schoolers come for campus tours

Even though I'm just a freshman, somehow I already find myself mocking the high school tour groups. Maybe it's just something about the way they're always outside my dorm door looking at our bathrooms?

2. The face you make when your professor looks over at you

Zoning out in class and acting like you were paying attention is truly an art form that I have yet to perfect.

3. Holding the door for people who are 39845 miles away

If I hold the door, I'm standing in the cold way longer than I need to. If I walk away, they will think I'm rude. The struggle is real, people!

4. Having absolutely no clue what's going on in class

The other day I walked into chemistry, saw the word "stoichiometry" on the board, and immediately wanted to walk out.

5. Receiving the email that says class is canceled

There is nothing more satisfying than waking up, seeing an email from your professor titled "No Class Today," and going straight back to sleep.

6. What we wish our advisors said about our GPAs

Apparently, grades now depend on our test scores? College is wild.

7. Whenever we hear the word "free"

Free stuff is my kryptonite.

8. When you're on your 5th plate at the dining hall and your friends says she wants more

When the dining hall has curly fries, it's a sin not to eat some

9. "Wanna go down and get some soft serve?"

The answer is always yes. My favorite is vanilla with crushed Reese's on top.

10. Feeling like the crows on the quad get bigger every time you see them

Is it just me or are the ISU crows abnormally large? All I'm saying is I would not want to get in their way.

11. Getting the email that says there's a package for you at the front desk

Even though 99% of the time it's something we ordered for ourselves, getting mail will never not be fun

College can be tough sometimes, but it's nice to know we're all on the struggle bus together. And hey, if you feel overwhelmed, just kick back and have a John Mulaney watch party with your BFFs and forget all about your stress!

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
