The pre-pubescent voices of Nick and Joe were continuously flowing through my mind, resulting in the flailing of my arms and moving of my arms in a way that I considered to be dancing around fourth grade. I had a newfound interest in cars with New Jersey license plates because clearly every person in NJ know the Jonases personally. The Jonas Brothers brought me joy and annoyed my parents to no end. I've recently rediscovered my old CDs and let me tell you, it has taken me back. In addition to taking my own personal moment of silence in memory of the heartbreak spilt, let's reflect on some of the best hits brought to us by the boys.
1. "Mandy"
For so long, I tried to talk my mom into changing my name to Mandy purely for the sake of being the girl that laughed when Joe acted stupid.
2. "Year 3000"
It's just plain good. I'm almost positive they jinxed themselves with the whole seventh album things but nonetheless, it's a song that you can't help but jam out to ridiculously.
3. "Play My Music"
As the captain of Team Joe, I was infuriated with Disney's portrayal of his character Shane when Camp Rock was released until his redemption with this fine, fine jam.
4. "I Am What I Am"
Nick may sound like an 11 year old girl, but this song is empowering, man.
"I am what I am, I can't help myself, and if ya don't like it get with somebody else. I'll never change my ways, it's not a phase. This is how I am and this is how I'm gonna stay."
Personally, I feel like these are words of wisdom for everyone to follow.
5. "SOS"
This is real life proof that texting relationships don't end well. I'm not entirely sure what would compel a girl to bring her friends on a date but that's not for me to understand. But the sheer beauty of this song was the performance where Joe tripped onto the pile of broken glass. Oh the irony. Moral of the story: relationships don't work well via text.
6. "Lovebug"
As I write this article, I realized that I should've put this at the top. I caught the lovebug for this song. Seriously, just look at Joe in those suspenders and glasses. Not to mention that my fifth grade boyfriend (of two weeks) and I had just started dating when I bought this CD.
7. "Burnin' Up"
Jonas Brothers and James Bond all in one. Just wow. I know you can feel it, too. Big Rob's rise to fame was a crucial part of my life and I'm just so thankful that it was brought on by this gem of a song.
8. "Hold On"
Get again, the boys bring around another inspirational hit that changed the lives of 12 year olds everywhere back in 2007. Remembers, there's more to life than just to live and it's not that hard to be a friend.
8. "When You Look Me In The Eyes"
To all the girls that thought this song was about you, I have some bad news... You've been living a lie for the past ten years. This song was about me.
9. "Gotta Find You"
Okay, okay. I know this wasn't originally an all JoBros song. But c'mon, we all know Joe was the best brother and easily the most fit to perform such a romantic ballad and sing to the souls of preteen girls around the world.
10. "That's Just The Way We Roll"
I fully and completely imagined the Jonas home being multiple colors after this song. That's all.
My sincerest hope is that you waste a copious amount of time watching all of these videos and reviving your love (or hatred) of this beautiful group of men.
R.I.P Jonas Brothers
