Nobody likes applying for jobs, but everyone likes having a job, or a better one. So it's a struggle we all deal with unless you're are #blessed and have a huge trust fund and never have to work, in that case, please DM for my Venmo info and I'll be glad to take a donation. For the rest of us though, these are the struggles we all face, as modeled by Nick from New Girl.
1. Why ask for my resume if you're just going to ask me everything on it in the application?
2. Can we worry about desired salary after you've interviewed me?
3. Do you really need my boss from 2014's phone number?
(The answer is no)
4. Should I opt out of the gender/race questions?
5. Trying to put your best foot forward in painful to write cover letters
6. If they deny me it's fine I don't want to work there anyway (cries internally)
7. What's my social media look like right now...
8. I hope they appreciate my LinkedIn game
9. When you find out they give you vacation time!
10. Please just hire me, I need a job!
Did I miss any struggles? Let me know and we can relate to our pain together!
