I highly doubt that I need to explain who JK Rowling is to you, but I will anyway. She is the one and only mastermind behind the greatest franchise the EVER have existed — "Harry Potter." Someone as skilled as her who overcame so much must have some magic in them.
Rowling started to write stories about Harry shortly before her mother's death. This death changed her writing strategies and brought Harry's character in a different light. Not long after this, she and her husband divorced, she lost her job and was raising her daughter on her own. At this point in her life, Rowling was down and out. She was diagnosed with depression and had even contemplated committing suicide — although she never took action on these thoughts. Rowling continued to write stories about the boy with magic powers in various cafès around Scotland. When she finally finished her manuscript, it was rejected 12 times before a publisher accepted it. After the first book was published, she continued to write, publishing a book nearly every year thereafter.
This grew into movies, memorabilia, websites and even an amusement park. Children grew up dreaming of attending Hogwarts and fighting Lord Voldemort. My mom used to read the stories to my brother as we grew up. Although Rowling was writing about magic, she was also creating it in the hearts of children everywhere.
Despite all the hardships in her life and all the times she could have given up, she didn't. She struggled through it all and kept writing to bring magic to lives of others. Even after 12 people told her that her stories weren't worth it, she kept looking for someone who would believe in them. Even now, 19 years after the publication of her first book, she is still writing. She came from nothing, and now she has more money than she could ever imagine, and most of it she donates to help people who are in the situations she used to be in.
If we all would have this much dedication, who knows how we could change the world. JK Rowling is an inspiration. She created a new world and gave many children a purpose. There's no way a mere Muggle could have accomplished all this. She must be a wizard.
