"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" -Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban.
This quote has stuck with me throughout a majority of my life. I can remember reading my first "chapter book" as a child, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I know, it's kind of lame that I didn't start with the first book, but hey, I saw the movie so I figured I would just start where I left off. There was something so magical about this series of books and movies, a magic that I have carried with me everywhere I go. A magic that can be found within a whole group of people.
JK Rowling has created a fandom so large that even after the series was published and the movies had been aired, we demanded more. Our prayers were answered when "Harry Potter World" was built in Universal Studios Orlando (a place at which I cried when first walking in). We did not think that this could be topped, until, JK Rowling not only announced that there would be a play showing in England of which she would help direct that started off where The Deathly Hallows ended, but a five part movie series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiering this Friday. These movies will be set before our beloved Harry's time, but they will still contain all the magical elements that we fell in love with (especially the beautiful Hogwarts).
It is truly amazing that a single book series could aspire so much hope and happiness in so many people, even almost twenty years later. So, thank you, JK Rowling for inspiring so many people to be the best forms of themselves and to find happiness even in the darkest of times. As you await your Hogwarts letter in the mail, grab a nice cold butterbeer and some Bertie Bott's every flavor beans and head over to your local movie theater and catch a glimpse of what could be the start of an amazing new movie series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
