This holiday season chances are you may need some ways to keep groups entertained. For "Tonight Show" watchers it’s common knowledge that Jimmy Fallon’s games are always good for a laugh. Many of the games are simple to re-create and will only require a pen and paper. Some easy and fun games are below with a short list of directions:

1. 5 Second Summary

Materials: Pen, Index cards/slips of paper, timer

Set-up: Each player writes a movie title on three different slips of paper. Players cannot share the movie titles with anyone else.

How to Play: Player One picks up their first card and sets the timer for 5 seconds. Player One must then describe the film without using any words in the title or any names of actors/actresses. All other players try to guess the movie. When it is guessed or time is up, move to the next person.

2. Say Anything

Materials: Scotch Tape

How to Play: Players take turns saying random words. The first person to stutter, blank, or repeat a word loses the round. The winner will then place a piece of scotch tape somewhere on the loser’s face. Play until someone loses 3 times.

3. True Confessions

Materials: Index cards, pen, timer

Set-up: Each player will write down one true confession about themselves and one false confession. Then label the back of the cards 1 and 2 and put them face down.

How to Play: On Player One’s turn the other plays choose a card number either 1 or 2. Player One reads the card then the timer starts 60 seconds. The other players have 60 seconds to interrogate Player One about the confession on the card. When the time is up each player must make a guess whether the confession was true or a lie. Each player takes a turn reading a confession.

4. Word Sneak

Materials: Ten slips of paper, pen

Set-up: Write one random funny word on each slip of paper and then divide them evenly between all players

How to Play: Work the word on your slip of paper into the conversation as smoothly as possible. A player can’t look at or move to the next word until they have talked about the current word. The first player to address all the words wins.

5. Whisper Challenge

Materials: Headphones, Music, Index cards, pen

Set-up: Each player gets a stack of five index cards and writes 5 random phrases or song lyrics. The players then put them face down in front of them.

How to Play: One player puts the headphones on and plays loud music. The other player then picks up a card from the stack and reads it out loud. The person with the headphones has to try to guess what is being said. The player with the headphones has three chances to have the phrase repeated and guess what it is. The first player to get three phrases right wins!

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
