February 11, 2017, my biggest fear became my reality. I was on my way to the REI Garage Sale in Bozeman and the unthinkable happened. I hit a pothole on the side of the highway and my car malfunctioned. My car went out of control going 70 miles an hour. I went through a fence into a ditch backward.

This has got to be one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I didn’t even realize I went into the ditch, I tried to drive out. Once I realized what happened I went into panic mode. I couldn’t find my phone, so I crawled out of the ditch and started waving my arms on the side of the highway. The first car I came across stopped and called 911 for me. I finally found my phone and called my mom.

All I could think about is how much trouble I was going to be in. I was panicking to my mom about how the insurance was going to go up because my car was totaled.

The police got there and they could not believe I was ok and functioning. The paramedics got there and told me the ditch is usually filled with water and I am really lucky.

The only thing that happened to me was my hat fell off and I got mud on me from crawling out of the ditch. If I would not have been wearing my seatbelt I might still be in the ditch because my car could not be seen from the road. It took the tow truck over two hours to get my car out.

Jesus definitely took the wheel on this one to make it a controlled crash.

That being said, it is important to remember life is fragile. No one knows when their life is going to flash before their eyes. Live every day like it is the last and have no regrets.

Let this be a message to everyone to wear your seatbelt overtime you get in a vehicle.

I truely believe Jesus was not just in my car with me that day, but that he took the wheel.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
