The news that the Steelers let go of James Harrison led to a very unhappy Steelers Nation, but the news that James Harrison was picked up by the Patriots has been nothing short of tragic. As we try to come to terms with this situation, there are some emotions all fans are feeling.

1. Denial

This is simply not happening. It is just not real. If I continue to think it isn't real, it just won't be real.

2. Embarrassment

How could we make such a mistake?

3. Sorrow

My heart physically hurts.

4. Betrayal

Pittsburgh is where he belongs. He is now with our arch enemy. How could this happen?

5. Anger

This is not okay. I am not okay with this. This is NOT how things were supposed to be!

6. Acceptance

Well, if this is how things are going to be, I guess we just need to deal with it.

7. Perseverance

We are going to get through this. That's what we do. And we do it well.

8. Determination

And you know what? We are going to come out even better, even stronger then before.

I suppose we shouldn't be too upset with Mr. Harrison; he had to do what was best for him, and we should be happy for him. We had a great run with him as a driving force on our team, but we will move on, and we will do great things too.

Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
