Here coffee, coffee, coffee!
That's the first thought in the morning if you're an addict. Your eyes are still shut and you've hit the snooze button at least five times. The only thing that stops you from hitting snooze for the sixth time is the thought of finally sipping your morning cup of Joe. It's the sole reason that you're able to drag yourself out of bed.
Coffee is bae––the first thing you think about when you wake up, the first thing you want to kiss, brings out the best in you, and it's impossible to imagine life without it. Like I said, coffee is bae. The smart people get it, but there are some human beings that just don't understand the importance of this holy grail product (I'm talking to you, tea drinkers). I have nothing against tea and I understand it has some great benefits for your health, but trust me when I say it is healthier for the both of us if I have coffee before speaking––or even looking at people––in the mornings.
Don't believe me? Here are 12 thoughts and/or concerns of coffee addicts who have been deprived of their first cup(s) of coffee before taking on the day––and who better to use as a spokesperson than the brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, Cristina Yang?
1. When the first "Good Morning!!" comes your way.
2. Everything around you is moving in slow motion.
3. When you're not sure if you're going to make it until lunch time and need a pep talk.
4. When you strongly consider lashing out at people.
5. And giving detailed descriptions of why.
6. When your boss cracks a joke and it's not funny at all, but you have no energy to fake it.
7. When your best friend starts spilling her problems and you have no patience to listen/give advice.
8. But then you realize that may have been too harsh.
9. When you start mapping the nearest stores that sell alcohol because, at this point, you're going to need something a little stronger than caffeine.
10. Wait, did I just hear someone say they were going on a coffee run?
11. No? Am I going crazy? Not like I haven't been told to check myself in to a mental institution before.
12. Holy sh*t, she is going on a coffee run. That intern is a gift from God and will go on to do great things with her life.
And to think we were about to code (you can never have too many "Grey's" references).
