Here are some reasons why senioritis starts early for most students that attend JMU.
1. It truly is the "happiest place in the world."
The Madison Way, or what Dukes refer to as holding the door open for someone, is a necessity here. Walk around campus and you will most certainly run into about at least five people you know; it's a big campus with a small town feel. The students, faculty, and staff are noticeably nicer than people from home.
2. Cheesy Thursdays, E-Hall Omelets... the food.
A meal plan at JMU takes you very far. In the mood for Italian handmade za? The new Student Success Center has brick oven for your own personal pie. Hungover on the weekend? Answer: E-Hall brunch. Let's not forget about cheesy Thursdays where you can get two grilled cheeses and soup for a punch.
3. The views.
Harrisonburg may be a small town with an extremely country feel, but being smack dab by the Blue Ridge Mountains means breathtaking views. The JMU campus is, without a doubt, beautiful. Who doesn't love a JMU sunset -- the sun here even bleeds purple and gold.
4. The fun.
Being located in the middle of Harrisonburg doesn't slow down Dukes from partying or having fun. The day drinks, here, put others to shame; the basement and house parties are a blast, and even our tailgating makes it seem like our football team is actually awesome (you don't have to actually attend to the game to be a true Duke fan).
