It's official: I'm an adult. I just started my first full-time internship and the experience is extremely rewarding (so far). I love the feeling of having a job and being productive. But with that, I've come to realize that my summer is basically over (so long, weekday partying), amongst other things. Here is my list of 31 things you that happen when you start working full time:

1. You suddenly become very aware of the time of day.

2. Sundays become the second worst days of the week.

3. Monday being the first.

4. Time passes much slower throughout the day.

5. You value your weekends so much more.

6. And they never feel long enough.

7. Summer days by the pool become a thing of the past.

8. You become able to wake up without an alarm.

9. The need to budget your time, and money becomes important.

10. You fall into a very strict schedule.

11. You feel much more productive waking up early.

12. Your morning commute becomes your “me” time.

13. The fact that you have to spend money to get to work every day makes you angry.

14. It feels good to be motivated and get work done every day.

15. You begin to, either, love or hate your coworkers.

16. And you have to see them every day for several hours at a time.

17. Your parents constantly say, “I told you so,” when you complain.

18. Full time classes at school suddenly seem like a much easier time than a 9 to 5 work schedule.

19. Direct deposit is not nearly as satisfying as cashing a check.

20. You become much more aware of how you spend your money.

21. Because it feels like a lot more effort to earn it.

22. You start to feel like an established adult.

23. It feels weird commuting with other working adults every morning.

24. Coffee becomes your new best friend.

25. If it was not already.

26. You start to go to bed super early.

27. You hate taxes even more than before.

28. F**k FICA.

29. You start to almost like being busy.

30. You feel lucky to have such great opportunities.

31. The future seems really bright and you love it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
