No running attack. Several drop passes. Spotty defensive play. Erratic special teams. Jacob Eason has already experienced all these things. Despite that, he's 2-0 as a starter and played a huge role in the Bulldogs other win. The quarterback has been the anchor of a unsteady team so far. They've look strong and resilient for moments and average and inexperienced the next. The Dawgs would have lost against Missouri on the road Saturday if it wasn't for their freshman quarterback. He threw the ball over 50 times in his first SEC road game. He threw the game-winning touchdown on 4th down in the 4th quarter. Freshman quarterbacks don't do that. They don't have the poise and leadership to lead their team to victory in hostile situations. Eason is already a leader on this team just based on His performance. He's still very raw, and it shows often. But his stature and potential is paramount. Obviously the coaches realize this. With the best player Nick Chubb being shut out by the Mizzou defense, they trusted Eason with the game. In just a few games, we have seen glimpses of things to come. Georgia is young and unproven this year. They have a ton of playmakers, but they lack the experience to actually contend for a championship. But with Eason at the helm, they will evolve and win ball games this year. He's the type of quarterback that will be the face of a program. He's already proven his competitive nature and clutch gene and produce wins. This may not be the national championship season all Dawg fans yearn for, but Eason is giving us a picture of good things to come. In a few years, Georgia's freshman quarterback from Washington may carry his team to their first SEC title in over ten years.
