Designated Survivor is in full swing on ABC, making its prime-time debut in the Fall 2016 lineup. Designated Survivor, based on the premise of who takes role of President in the event of a catastrophe. Playing the role of the Designated Survivor is Tom Kirkman, played by Kiefer Sutherland, also know as Jack Bauer from the hit FOX television series, 24. Both shows highlight the character portrayed by Sutherland as leaders, and those who are placed in high pressure, intense situations. Unfortunately, Kirkman and Bauer are nearly complete opposites of each other, both personally and in their job. So, that leaves us with this question - which Kiefer is better fit to be a leader?

Which Kiefer is more calculated with risks, outcomes, and the intent of an action?

Tom Kirkman. Kirkman is almost too calculated with his decisions, marking the opinion of multiple sources, as well as doing all he can to verify information before he moves forward. While Bauer is also calculated, sometimes he makes choices on information that isn't correct. Handing this one to Kirkman.

Kirkman 1 - Bauer 0.

Which Kiefer commands attention when he needs it?

Jack Bauer. Bauer is strong, and has a very authoritative presence when he needs to use it. His ability to take control of a room is unmatched. Also, Bauer uses his attention to swing situations, even those that directly harm him, in his favor. Kirkman struggles grabbing attention, even standing at a podium with the presidential seal.

Kirkman 1 - Bauer 1.

Which Kiefer shows more focus?

Jack Bauer. Bauer, with the occasional slip up, is always focused on defeating terrorists and saving the day, no matter the cost. His ability to focus in high pressure situations, with guns, bombs, and chemical weapons is what eventually saves the day, multiple times.

Kirkman 1 - Bauer 2.

Which Kiefer is more transparent?

Tom Kirkman. Kirkman is open and honest about his views on situations, all the time. Kirkman had the ability to tell a room full of military leaders that he didn't agree with their evaluations, and fully explained his reservations to their opinions. He's also awfully honest about himself, and his lack of preparation to be the Designated Survivor. Bauer, well, he keeps us in the dark, a lot.

Kirkman 2 - Bauer 2.

Which Kiefer would be a better leader?

The ultimate decision. While having a nice combination of the two would be perfect, we have to choose one. I have no doubt that if I needed someone to save me, that person would be Jack Bauer. However, as a leader, I think Tom Kirkman is a better leader, with better decision making for all involved, both in our own and enemy territories.

Kirkman wins, 3-2.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
