We all have those moments, days, or weeks, where we just don't feel like we are in a good mental state of mind. Especially those of us who are depression or anxiety ridden. You don't feel like getting out of bed, you wonder what you would get out of bed for anyways. Perhaps you wish for a different life, even just for a day.
It's normal to feel this way. It's OK to have those time periods when you can't seem to find the strength to take on the day. It's OK to acknowledge that you're stressed. It's OK to acknowledge that you're feeling sad. You have to remember that you're human and you're trying to do the best you can.
Give yourself a break. Don't be so hard on yourself. After all, we are our own worst critic. Recognize the times when you need to forgive yourself for being "off" that day. We aren't all perfect and sometimes we have a lot going on and we don't know how to handle it. We feel almost out of control of our own life. Take a breath and establish the next step you're going to take. What will uplift you? How can you move forward? Use these moments as a learning experience. Recognize what triggers these emotions, and change your situation if you can.
Call your best friend, tell them how you feel. Tell your mom, your siblings, someone you trust. They will always be there to help you through the tough times. Meditate, go for a walk, listen to music to try to escape the negativity that is consuming you.
It's OK to not be OK. We are all human. This life isn't perfect, and neither are you. You'll encounter these moments, days, or weeks time and time again. Just know that you should never feel ashamed for being honest with yourself and with your feelings. You will get past this, it's just a bump in the road.
So have a positive mindset when you wake up in the morning. Tell yourself something you have to be grateful for every day and let that be the reason you take on the day.
