As a college student, school ending has for once, caused an overwhelming wave of sadness in my life.
Living in a suburb about an hour away from Michigan State, I never truly appreciated East Lansing for it's daily surges of excitement and opportunity.
Now, in my constant state of boredom, I know that it is time to enjoy this summer vacation.
As I brainstorm the ways to spend my time, while I am not working, I have realized that it is actually very simple. With all my friends home, the possibilities for fun are endless.
Therefore I plan to spend my summer the best way I possibly can by taking advantage of all my new found free time, and I challenge you to do the same!
Plan a Lake Day
Kayaking, sunshine, and swimming- the literal definition to a perfect summer day. This is the perfect way to get tan and spend time with friends.
Exercise
With beautiful weather and the desire to be in a swim suit 24/7, what better way to spend time then exercising? Exercising can also inspire some to try new things like yoga or hiking as the weather may pertain. It's the perfect fun way to get in shape before school starts.
Plan A Road Trip
What could beat getting in the car with a couple friends and driving to find new adventures? With a change of scenery, and a break from reality, planning a road trip can be a great way to make memories this summer.
Go To A Music Festival
From Coachella to Lollapalooza, music festivals are a great way to have fun and create memories with friends this vacation. From the fashion, to the hype of the music, this is definitely a solid thing to get excited about this summer.
Make Money
Yes, it sounds lame. However, what better way to prevent being a broke college student this fall than finding a job this summer?
Netflix
This may seem to defeat the purpose of embracing the sunshine, but summer is the perfect time to lay back and enjoy some Netflix. Although it has the potential to isolate you from the outside world for a bit, enjoy it- you're on vacation!
Make A Bucket List
If you're like me, you probably know your town like the back of your hand. This has been the fuel to my boredom, what else is there to do? So, instead of dwelling on the familiarity of my situation- I have chosen to make a bucket list. A list of fun things I want to do this summer, so I am positive I will get around to completing them.
