Confidence.
Some of us have it and some of us don’t.
I struggle with my confidence. When I was a kid, I was told I could do anything I set my mind to but growing up let me realize that things don’t always go as planned.
Society today plays a major factor. We are labeled, categorized and always judged but how others define us does not represent who we are. We get to create our own definition of ourselves. That’s the beauty of it. We don’t have to let others affect us through their words or their labels. Instead, we can grow, do anything and everything we set our minds to and be ourselves.
“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn't try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn't need others' approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.” -Lao Tzu
But, even when we find way to ignore other point of views, self-love can be hard. It’s not easy to stop pin-pointing all your flaws as you look in the mirror but feeling like you’re not good enough only holds us back from becoming the best version of ourselves. We have to start feeling deserving because we all are. Say goodbye to your negative thoughts and instead find your beauty, because that is something that we all have!
"Don't waste your energy trying to change opinions ... do your thing, and don't care if they like it." -Tina Fey
It isn’t about how the other girl looks because we cannot compare ourselves to others. It isn’t about how weird or bad we think we look in the mirror because we have to accept ourselves for who we are. Instead, look into the mirror and simply try. All it takes is one try. Notice how “on fleek” your makeup looks or how cute your messy bun is. After all, it’s the little things that count. Give yourself a start, believe in yourself, keep your positive attitude and start to love YOU.
"You yourself, as much as anyone in the entire universe deserve your love and affection." -Buddha
