I know you’re hurt and I know you are struggling to just get through the day. I know you can’t go a single day without thinking of the boy who broke you. I know you feel completely and utterly unlovable. I know you struggled to get out of bed this morning. I know you struggled to put on a fake smile for your friends and family. I know the sharp pain you feel in your chest when you hear someone say his name. I know that you replay his last words to you every second of every day. I know you're hurting.

Trust me, I know, but I also know something else.

I know you have the most amazing personality and that you have a smile bright enough to light up the darkest of rooms. I know you have a laugh that could cure the deepest of sadness. Most importantly, I know you have a heart of gold and that you deserve to be with a boy who will love you just as much as you allow yourself to love everyone else. You deserve to be treasured. You deserve to be swept off of your feet and to be treated like a princess. And one day, I promise you will be. One day, a guy will walk into your life when you least expect it. Maybe he will be in one of your classes, maybe he will live in your dorm, or maybe you will stumble into him in a Starbucks in the middle of nowhere, but regardless, you will meet him. When you do meet him, promise me something.

Promise me you will let him in. Don’t shut him out. Don’t let the mistakes of guys before him stop you from diving into the unknown with him. Promise me you will allow yourself to love again.
