We've all had them.
Personally, I have seen my fair share of bad days. Usually, bad days can vary from waking up and having everything seem like it’s going wrong to finding out or experiencing something saddening or tragic. For myself, most often I find myself stuck in a bad day by either being worn out by school or work or by being stuck in a bad mood because of something recent that has happened.
Fortunately, I’m here to reassure you that we all have our bad days. For example, yesterday was truly a bad day for me. I was worn out from work, not feeling well, and had just heard some upsetting news. As the day went on, I caught myself stuck in my own pity party, not looking at the larger picture around me.
You may have a bad day here and there, maybe even more often than you’d like. Either way, it’s important to remind yourself in that moment that your bad day will be over soon and that tomorrow is your opportunity to live a new day. Remembering to stay positive is important because you don’t want your bad day to turn into another just because you forgot about yourself. Don’t let your bad mood turn into bad actions that could negatively affect those around you.
When having a bad day, make sure you are appropriately taking care of yourself. Maybe you need some rest, space or just a break from whatever is going on around you. Sometimes in the moment of your busy life, you don’t even realize how exhausted you have become. For myself, I tend to worry about others and tend to their needs before my own. Therefore, losing track of who I am and the importance of my own happiness.
No matter what’s going on in your life, remember that it’s okay to have a bad day. Remember that you’ve made it through them before and know that you’ll have them in the future. Just keep in mind that your bad day will go away and that it is most important to stop and look at the larger picture around you.
