It is okay to cry. It is okay to admit to the world and yourself that you're not always okay. It is okay to ask for help and to talk about your problems. It's all okay, because it's okay to not be okay.
There is always someone there to tell us that it will be okay, but the real question is when will it be okay? No one can ever answer that for us because we never give ourselves enough time to heal. We allow ourselves to breathe for a minute or two before we jump right back into life and start tackling our responsibilities again. Then, we dive headfirst back into the monsters that attacked us to begin with.
We think we have to always be strong and tough. We find it absolutely ridiculous to reach out for someone to help. Why is it that talking to someone about what is bothering us is such a bad thing?
We've all asked someone for help and for advice at some point or another, so why is it so hard to admit that we aren't okay? The problem isn't with asking for help, it's with admitting that we may need it.
It's okay to admit you're not okay. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. It's okay to feel like you may be alone. While you may experience these feelings, you can find peace in knowing that they are fleeting because there is an awesome God that is there to rescue you from those feelings of insecurity.
Outside of yourself, God is the only person who knows and truly understand what is going on inside your head. He is there for you so that you don't have to be afraid of your own thoughts and feelings. When you feel like there is no one there for you, God is.
We are human and it is so important to remember that. We experience feelings of doubt and self-pity, but we cannot succumb to staying there forever. The great thing about having a relationship with Christ is that He will rescue us from the lowest places in life. He won't allow us to unpack our bags and live in sorrow forever. He's there to help us build ourselves back up, even when we feel like crumbling down again.
While it's okay to not always be okay, God won't allow you to feel down constantly. Everyone has bad days and rough patches, but we have to pick up and move on. If you don't like the path that you're on, refocus and change it. While days may pass where you feel you're not good enough or unloveable, you can find peace in knowing that Christ loves you regardless.
