At lunch today I nearly choked when my friend told me that Halloween is closer than our move-in day. Hearing that hit me like a ton of bricks along with a wave of excitement for my first ever collegiate Halloween. Don't know what a Waco Halloween will look like but I can't wait. October is filled with PSLs, homecoming, cuddling, and of course Halloween.
One of the best holidays in a calendar year because for one night only you're given the best excuse to dress up and act or be something polar opposite of your reality.
If you're anything like me you haven't started to thinking about your costume (yes, costume) don't let anyone tell you that you're too old for Halloween.
Use the following for costume ideas so you don't look like Karen:
Movies and Television
Whether it's Mean Girls, Kim Possible or Stages of Rihanna VMA outfits throughout her career, each beloved character from a movie or television show has you guess it a costume on! Soooo therefore you already have an outfit picked out and it's recognizable and a great conversation starter.
Thrifting
If you go through all of your watch-lists and still don't find anything that works for you, then you should plan a trip to a local Goodwill or thrift store. Walking around the store and selecting random items can turn out to be one of your best costumes to date. This is a very spur the moment option.
Phenomenons
RIP Haramabe. Joanne the Scammer. Donald or Hillary. 2016 has been filled with an abundance of memes and phenomenons that you can recreate on Halloween. The beauty of dressing like a trend each year is that it's easy to dress for and recognizable but on the other hand you might be one of twelve Harambes in a room and that's sounds like a low, college budget Planet of the Apes.
Even if you don't have a costume go out be safe and have fun.
