It's already almost the end of August which means Kzoo is beginning to fill up with first-time eager freshmen, but even more eager upperclassmen knowing all that the next year will entail. If you, like me, love the University we call home than chances are you probably can't wait for:

1. 77 cent den pops

There's an obvious reason this is first. It's cheap, it's delicious and it's a Western staple. Other college students think it's a sucker or popsicle, but nope. Just any kind of pop you can imagine in a 44 oz. styrofoam cup until the early hours of the morning.

2. Two Fellas

If you have had it, I don't need say anymore. Two Fellas wraps are good for breakfast, lunch or dinner and obviously the 2 a.m. delivery that we all use way too much. Oh and don't forget the mac and cheese bites. This place is a must-stop on the first few nights if you are just getting back to Kzoo.

3. Football games & tailgates

We are Broncos and this is what we are best at. Fall semester means the students take to the tailgating parking lots while the football team takes the field. I don't know about all of you, but I can't wait for Saturdays at Waldo with the best football team and students filling the stands cheering them on.

4. Being with your best friends

Many of us ventured our separate ways for the four long summer months so having the whole gang back in our favorite place will be awesome. There's nothing better than long nights laughing, being ridiculous and having fun with some of the best people in the world and with school right around the corner it's almost time for those days!

5. Weekend trips to South Haven

Before I started at Western, I hadn't really heard of SoHa, but now it is one of my favorite places. Especially, as summer turns into fall the beach gets a little less crowded and a little cooler! It's the perfect place to throw on some jeans and a hoody, lay down a blanket and watch the waves crash as the sunsets over the lighthouse. Not to mention they have the cutest downtown shops and more importantly food.

6. Staring at Miller Fountain & wishing you could swim in it

I know it's really, really blue and all you wanna do is dive in and splash around, but don't. You and your bank account will be extremely thankful to forgo the $500 fine that you are pretty much guaranteed to get because you'll probably get caught. However just know you're not alone in the yearning to jump into the beautiful fountain.

7. To enjoy our last year with THE BEST president in the business

So sad to say, THE President John Dunn will be retiring in June of 2017 and if you know anything about him you know he is simply the best. He's always on campus just smiling an waving, taking selfies, tweeting and being the happiest man I have ever seen. This university wouldn't be what it was without our outstanding Prez and I'm so lucky to have been able to go to this school during his time! Let's enjoy our final year we have left with the man!

8. Adventures around Kzoo that you can't imagine at this point

You know this school year as any other is sure to be filled with chaos, wandering, fun times, odd times, bad times, but no matter what you are sure to enjoy yourself. No matter what your degree, age, living situation, social status, this place is the best of the best and you can always count on some unforgettable memories in good 'ol Kzoo.

9. Spending another school year at the best university in the world

I love this school, these students, this campus and this city. We go to the best university in the nation and I am so proud to have yet another year of calling myself a Bronco. Live it up, make memories, study hard, meet some friends and embrace this place that we get to call our home because it's always a great day to be a Bronco.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
