Stars Hollow is back! After months of teasing and speculation, Netflix has finally confirmed that reboot of the fan-favorite television series, Gilmore Girls. This is the confirmation that fans have been waiting for since the long-running WB show ended in 2007.
If for some odd reason you’ve never heard of Gilmore Girls, it was a television show that aired on The WB - now The CW - from 2000 to 2007. The show followed the lives of the mother-daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, in the town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Throughout the seven seasons fans watched as the Gilmore girls navigated their busy, coffee-driven lives in their small town. Whether it was watching both girls fall in and out of love, watching Lorelai open her own bed-and-breakfast, or watching Rory graduate from high school and college and enter adulthood, viewers loyally tuned in every week.
Although it has been nine long years since the quick-tongued, pop-culture filled show has aired, fans are buzzing with excitement. Where will the show pick up? Are Luke and Lorelai married? Is Rory a successful journalist? What happened to our other favorite Stars Hollow residents like Sookie St.James or Kirk? Lauren Graham, who plays the lovable and coffee-obsessed Lorelai Gilmore, teases that the revival will answer all of our questions.
While fans must wait to hear more news surrounding the reboot, the cast as well as the show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino have confirmed a few details. First, the revival will include four scripts: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. The four episode revival is set to include many of our fan favorite stars like Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore), Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore), Scott Patterson (Luke Danes), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore), Keiko Agena (Lane Kim), Sean Gunn (Kirk) as well as a couple of new characters. The cast has also teased that fans will also
Unfortunately Netflix as well as the cast has remained close-lipped about any other plot details surrounding the reboot. The Gilmore Girls revival is scheduled to start filming this February and scheduled to wrap up at the end of June. So fingers crossed that more secrets or hints will be leaked over the next couple of months to keep fans excited. Hopefully, fans won't have to wait too long for the revival to premier on Netflix.
So until we hear more, we’ll just have to binge-watch the first seven seasons on Netflix.
