It's one of the best times of the year. The leaves change colors, the air gets colder, boots in all shades of brown line the floor of my closet, and from hand soap to lattes the infamous Pumpkin Spice is everywhere.
I absolutely love everything about this season. October rolls around and with that comes pumpkins, leggings, Spirit Jerseys and Halloween. I'll be making it my mission to enjoy as much of this season as I can while keeping myself nose deep in my textbooks. Though i'm a full time student, believe it or not, I will have some spare time to enjoy everything fall has to offer. With that being said, Statesboro has plenty of stuff to offer including many different coffee shops and activities to get you into the spirit.
Leave it up to Statesboro when it comes to coffee shop options. Being a student means I rely on coffee to get me through long nights. When I'm not in the library though, I'm probably checking out one of the local spots. Starbucks, Ellianos, Three Tree, The Daily Grind, Jittery Joes, Joe Mugg's, Cool Beanz and Zach's Brewery are some of the most popular. While Joe Muggs can be found in Books-A-Million, Starbucks and Zach's Brewery can be found right on campus! Even with all the options, coffee isn't the only way to get into the spirit.
There are plenty of Georgia Southern football games to attend on the weekends and there are a lot of local events to enjoy too! Statesboro's annual Scare on the Square is a popular event among locals. This year my roommate is one of many putting it together and I'm so excited to see what it's all about. There is also Trick or Treat on Greek Street.
If neither of those sound interesting, there is also the Rocky Horror production at the Averitt Center, and corn mazes at the Old Freeman Family Farm 20 minutes from campus.
It's fall y'all and Statesboro has you covered with plenty of fun activities.
