It is once in a blue moon that two holidays fall on the same day. Once before that Hanukkah and Christmas Eve or Day have been together. We all know that there are 12 days to Christmas and 8 crazy nights for Hanukkah. But what happens when it happens again this year?
1. Presents
I will be not only working on Christmas Eve (do not worry, my job closes at 5), but I will be heading to my boyfriends to open presents and eat with his family. Then I will be heading home to light our menorah and open a present or two from my family. I know it seems greedy, but I get double the amount of presents the first night due to Christmas.
2. Food
The amount of that will be devoured is ridiculous! I cannot even begin to describe how many calories that I will be consuming in first two days. Both my mother and his family make delicious meals. Along with those meals is dessert.
3. Family Time
All of the laughs on a daily basis become louder and funnier. Now we need to talk over holiday music or movies. Somebody is bound to say or do something stupid and your stomach will be hurting and tears will be running down our faces.
The last time anything like this happened was way back in 2005. 11 years ago people!! It could be worse, Hanukkah could have been during Thanksgiving again. That has also happened.
Wishing everyone a Happy Hanukah and a Merry Christmas.
