It’s not fall in America until you hear those two special words—those words that invigorate your taste buds and help ease into the pre-winter season: pumpkin spice. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy the traditional flavor added to my morning coffee, but when is enough, enough? I think this trend has gone far beyond stereotyping girls in UGG boots. This is something that no matter how much you love it, you still give an eye-roll to the idea that fall in the U.S. can be dumbed down to these two basic ingredients.
We need to stop basing our culture during autumn on a flavor.
Here are some of my favorite pumpkin spice products that are purely satire (but may one year be a thing):
Extra, extra! Chew all about it.
Great for thirsty trick-or-treaters.
Well if the pumpkin's long lasting...
This is what could happen to you if you keep supporting the pumpkin spice epidemic!
In conclusion, let’s leave the pumpkin-spicing to Starbucks and take in the beauty of this wonderful season. Enjoy the natural elements that inspired this trend. And remember, if you do have to give into the pumpkin spice effect, do so in moderation. Help to take one small step for man, but one giant step away from pumpkin spice.
