"Tell the truth. Express your feelings. If you like someone, tell them. If you don’t, leave or at least be upfront with them about. Life should be that simple. This research on romantic regret sheds light on the importance of taking chances, especially when it comes to love.

Is it better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all? My answer is an absolute yes." - Kristin Mark (Huffington Post, 2012).

There are two types of people in this world; those who shed all of their emotion and passion into something, or someone who is completely emotionless and moves from person to person not caring what others feel.

I consider myself someone who believes it's better to love than to not love at all.

I believe it's better to feel real emotions when you love who you have. The feeling of bliss and joy when the thought of this person crosses your mind. Feelings of excitement and your heart pacing to the very thought of seeing this person during the day, or making plans with them.

Loving something or someone comes with obvious risks and side effects.

The risk is simply this: you either have found what you're looking for, or you haven't which means you will lose.

The side effects? Confusion, worry, anxiousness, sadness, and very heart sinking moments.

Although you suffer both risks and side effects, you still feel - and if you're like me, you feel so deeply.

Being someone who loves, you pour your heart, soul, and every being into something and when you come up short, everything feels like it's failed and it's dwindling.

Hear me out.

From my personal experience, amongst many who have walked before me, and those who walk beside me know that loss is always tough.

Someone who you've loved and cared about for so long is either never coming back, or they simply have other plans that lie before them that simply don't include you.

When you love, you know you have lost your best friend. The things that happen during your day that remind you of them, you can no longer tell them within seconds.

When you love, you feel as if you failed. You put so much pressure on yourself to make sure the other person knows how much you care, you want to do everything in your power to make them happy. Sure, we all have ups and downs in our relationships, but when you experience loss - you wish there were things you could take back in a heartbeat. You spend time beating yourself up wishing that one time you could of just left things unsaid or would have given them an extra hug or kiss.

When you love, your heart sinks to the very pit of your stomach. The funny thing is that life deals us several sets of cards that take us all on different paths and walks of life. When you experience loss, your heart sinks to your chest. You become speechless or you simply well up with tears to the point where you can't feel them fall down your face anymore.

I'm here to tell you, though, that if you love - it is truly better than never loving at all. You may think I'm crazy - and that I might be.

When you love so deeply, you learn.

When you love, you fall head over heels. We are all aware that love makes people do crazy things and you know this to be true. Loving someone and simply caring for them, you would bend over backwards, fight for them, and support them.

While it's normal to fall head over heels when you are someone who loves - just know with loss comes learning.

When you lose, you learn.

Remember we have all failed tests, we have all lost a game, we have all lost out on an opportunity we wish we would have pursued.

From these losses you learn to become better, to work harder, and to take the opportunity or the risk you want to take.

It takes time and it's inevitable that time heals and is the answer to all things.

Just know, being someone who loves is better than someone who is loveless. Having the ability to learn from relationships, family, and friends make you the strong individual you are.

It truly prepares you for the road and obstacles ahead of you in life.

It helps you realize that maybe you were just meant to be in each other's life for the time being.

It helps you realize that you are capable of knowing your worth and knowing that there are people out there who are looking for someone just like you.

Don't be emotionless.

Go in full force with whomever you love and care about.

Take chances, even if the risks and side effects are high - you will learn, you will love, and have lasting memories for the rest of your life.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
