Life—a word that has so much significance and importance. In its simplest definition, life can be defined as breathing and sustaining a heartbeat. Life is a relative term across the human population, but each person has their own opinion and their own perception of how to define it. Of course, life is about sustaining your bodily functions; however, life can also be defined by the way you live it.
Everyone comes from a different culture, different lifestyle, different background, and different experience. I believe that God has placed each and every one of us where we are for His purpose. No two people have the same exact worldview, and we all have seen the world through our own perspectives. All people go through trials and tribulations. Some more so than others. All of us go through the joy and the happiness as well. No matter where you come from and what you have gone through, live your life to the very fullest.
We have all been through some kind of hurt or sorrow, whether it is from the loss of a loved one or from the pain someone has put you through. No matter what has happened, know that your Heavenly Father looks down on you with joy. If you are suffering from the loss of a loved one, always remember those times with that person, and always be receptive to those happy times; however, don’t hold on to the pain caused by the loss. Don’t hold resentment towards the Lord. Don’t blame Him for causing you pain. Those of us who have been hurt by the words of others or the physical pain caused by abuse, remember that you will find joy in the Lord. The joy of the Lord is my strength, and that simple phrase holds true for all eternity. Forgiveness is the ransom that sets you free from your bondage. This is why Jesus came and died for us. He was the ransom for the bondage of our sins. Therefore, live as Christ lived. Forgive those who have wronged you, and love them just as Christ does. These bodies we were given are not eternal. This life that we are living is just for a short while. Embrace every moment with joy and happiness.
With that said, life is about living. Make memories, enjoy the times with the ones you love, remember that every second is a blessing, and make most of the time you have here on this earth. The idea that someone would hold a grudge and be unwilling to forgive just so that they can prove that they are “right” saddens me. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. The days we have are numbered. Love one another and treat one another with respect. It doesn’t matter who is right or what the situation is. The Lord gives, and He takes away. He has given us all this amazing life, and He takes us home on His time, not our time. Knowing this very fact drives me to live my life as a servant.
I want to love unconditionally and show the ones I love most the compassion and grace that the Lord has shown me. If I were to hold resentment towards someone I love and the Lord calls them home before I was able to apologize, I would hold that resentment against myself. The Lord has instructed us to be quick to listen and slow to anger. I hold truth to these infallible words. Don’t go to bed angry because tomorrow holds so much joy.
Life is so much more than the physical. Life is about living for the Lord and living to love others. Be happy and content with this life because the Lord has so much in store for each of us. Life is a very beautiful thing, and knowing that the Lord desires me to have life is more than enough for me.
