It's Always A Great Day To Be A Villanova Wildcat

There is never a day when I am not ecstatic to be a part of the Nova Nation. Even when I'm drowning in the stress of college, I am always grateful to be surrounded by the wonderful community that exists here on campus. Villanova is such a special place, the students, professors and faculty are all overjoyed to be a part of this school. People constantly walk around campus with a smile on their face, there's always someone holding the door for one another, and you can't leave your dorm without someone offering a friendly "Hello." We are proud to a part of Villanova, and there isn't a single moment when I don't agree with Archie's famous words, "I just love everything about this university!" So, I've compiled here a list of all the fantastic aspects of life at Villanova, and the reasons I feel so lucky to be a Wildcat every day.

1. Seeing the St. Thomas of Villanova Church every day.

2. Walking around and relishing in the beauty of the campus.

3. Sunsets over the Quad.

4. The view of campus from the top of Dougherty Hall -- or any building, for that matter.

5. When the weather is beautiful and everyone’s hanging out by the Oreo.

6. Finding a coveted table outdoors in the spring.

7. Snow days on campus.

8. Spit dinners.

9. Getting featured on @NovaNationer.

10. Free lollipops every Friday at the Oreo.

16. Beating the 12:30 p.m. Café Nova rush.

17. Being that obnoxious group that saves eight tables so your whole squad can sit together at lunch.

18. Living on South.

19. Catching the shuttle to main right as it pulls up to the bus stop.

20. Living in the Quad.

21. Living with your best friends, anywhere.

22. The Courts.

23. Campco and my favorite food in the whole world, Zilly Fries.

25. Being a part of all the amazing clubs and organizations on campus.

53. Tips lol.

54. The fact that there are now two El Limons on Lancaster.

55. Suburban Square.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
