17 Things About Texting Your Friends About Text Conversations With Boys

In order to combat texting confusion with your signicant other, you may text your girl friends asking them what they think about the situation. "He should have responded by now," "His response doesn't make sense," or "What if I send him this?" are many common texts girls send each other. Here are 17 instances of texting your friends about conversations with your S.O.

1. First step: Worry about your relationship with him, over analyze your texting conversation, and message your friends about it once you know you need some back up.

2. You may text your friend simple questions, like "How long is too long between text replies?" or a complaint about it, "He's being so dumb right now," or sometimes it could be more dramatic like, "OH MY GOSH! WHY IS HE BEING SO OBNOXIOUS?!"

3. You start texting your friends multiple times when explaining what's happening in the conversation. You also send a few messages reacting to his responses. Sometimes when you're trying to explain the relationship to your friends, you realize just how confusing it is.

4. Once you start texting your friends about the conversation, you may send some screenshots of the texts for more explanation of the situation. You realize others may be coming off as overanalyzing, but you're lucky because you know your friends will give you advice and understand.

5. However, they will also probably be honest with you.

6. Your friends help you come up with the perfect responses, including the right emoji to use because emoji can be sexual, flirtatious, cute, or just dumb depending on the situation. Regardless of what you send him, you want it to be cute...and seem like you put way less time into it than you actually did.

7. Maybe he doesn't reply for hours. You and your friends jump to every conclusion about why he isn't responding, possibly even going as far as to re-analyze your entire relationship with him.

8. He may respond after a while and give you a stupid response; he may also never respond. Whichever one, you know it's fully reasonable to send your friends frustrated texts and they'll probably understand.

9. However, it could also be a good situation and his responses are on point. You could bet texting your friends about what specific flirty text you should send him. You question the time you should send it, the emoji to use and what wording is the best...with your friends' help, of course.

10. Perhaps you're texting your friends about the conversation because you're not sure if he's a player and just wants to "Netflix and chill." This is even trickier if he texts you at 11 p.m. on a Saturday, but you want more than just a hook up.

11. And all you can do is hope you're reading his flirting right and he isn't about to put you in the friend zone.

12. Some of your friends may tell you to call him instead of having a texting conversation with him. That way, you know what his responses are faster and you won't be waiting for texts.

13. Sometimes there's a differentiation between what you want to do and what your friends want you to do, but if you're talking to them about your debate of what to do, they probably still think they're right.

14. You'll probably start thinking you're taking your friend's time and they may not want to talk about your relationship issues anymore, but chances are you're entertaining them and they don't mind.

15. You may get together with one or a few of the girls you were texting and they'll understand if you're a bit jittery or annoyed...or just want to sip some bubbly.

16. If you're texting your girls or your boy around other people, you may dive into your phone for a moment, ignoring your surroundings (even though you may feel bad about it).

17. Regardless of what happens with the boy, you know you'll have these friends through it all.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
