13 Thoughts Everyone Has Walking Into Purity

The town of Ithaca, situated in upstate New York, is home to over 20,000 college students thanks to Cornell University and Ithaca College. The area itself is known for its beauty, mainly in the summer when everyone isn’t so depressed with the cold, gorges (because I mean Ithaca is gorges, right?), and the awesome wineries. Even though these are some pretty cool aspects that Ithaca boasts, there is one place in particular that is a true token of Ithaca, and that place is Purity.

Purity is just a great place to be. It’s such an iconic feature of Ithaca, and I know that when I walk through the doors, I will not be disappointed. Here are a couple of thoughts that I know I am not alone in thinking when I go to Purity.

1. "Oh my God, it smells like heaven in here!"

This statement is all too true. Whenever you walk through the doors at Purity, you're met with the overwhelming smells of baked goods, ice cream, and everything that's good in the world.

2. Two scoops or a sundae?

This is a very crucial decision to make and one that has the potential to be life altering. By getting two scoops you're able to try out new and fun flavors, but with a sundae you get a specialty ice cream of sorts. Either way is a win-win, but it's still a huge decision to make.

3. Is an "Oh my goodness" going to be enough?

Even though this may cross your mind, it is about 100 percent guaranteed that this amazing sundae will exceed your expectations.

4. Do I try a new flavor?

This is a tough one, because by sticking with what you know, you're not really branching out to the amazing flavor possibilities that Purity gives us, but by staying true to your designated flavor you know exactly what to expect.

5. How early is too early for ice cream...?

Never.

6. Thank God they serve breakfast.

This allows us to validate going in there at like 9 a.m.

7. Is it bad that the workers know my order?

This just shows that you are a valued, regular costumer.

8. Is it too soon to be back here?

Never.

9. Thank God for ice cream in December.

Even when it's cold out, people still need ice cream, the hot fudge will keep you warm.

10. I hope that the same people aren't working again...

This one always gets a little awkward.

11. I wonder how much those t-shirts cost...

This one will always be a mystery.

12. Oh my god, these cupcakes look amazing -- do I get one for later?

The answer is always yes.

13. This is definitely all my calories for the week.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
