They say it takes a big heart to shape little minds. That statement cannot be more true. I have always asked myself growing up, "What does God have in store for me?" I always loved teaching.I always loved small children. I always loved music. I always loved money. So, there is not really many things I could do with my life that combines all of those. I decided last year that my love for children and teaching overruled every other aspect in my life. It truly takes a huge heart and a witty mind to be an elementary teacher and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Last year, one of my students told me a story about her parents. It was a very sad story you would expect to hear from an author not a 5 year old. It was one of the most scary accounts I have ever heard. It was even scarier coming from a child who honestly had no idea how scary it even was. Her innocence about the whole situation was inspiring. Not just because how strong she was at such a young age but because she ended her whole story with "And I am at school now with you so I am safe." That one sentence made my entire existence in this world totally worth while. This is why I am on this earth. This is what I was sent here to do.

I now work in a preschool. I babysit. I love what I do. I would not trade it for anything in the entire world. It is the most rewarding experience I could have ever done for myself. I love my job and I cannot wait to do it for a living every single day of my life. It truly does take a special heart with a passion to help and nurture children to shape children. What happens in the classroom as a young child can determine the success of a child throughout their entire academic career. This statement hits me really hard. I want to be a part of a child's life and to help shape them. I want to be able to share my knowledge with children and inspire them to do the remarkable. As a teacher, you never know when one of your students could be your next doctor, mechanic, lawyer or hairstylist. As a teacher these students can have as much success as you allow them. So let them have it. Let them grow as much as they can. Let them use their minds to go into the depths of their imagination. Let them exercise to be the best they can be. Let them form to become the best even at their young age.

As a teacher, it is the best feeling in the world when a student of yours "gets it". It is so rewarding to have a student have a successful lesson. It is such a great feeling as a teacher to see a students "light bulb" go off and their face light up because they realize that they CAN do it. I always remember my teachers believing in me. I know there are some bad teachers but it is the good ones that make your child's excitement about learning. It is always a great feeling to have the excitement coming from the smiling faces of 20 six-year-olds. It is one of those things I cannot reiterate enough: I cannot wait to be a teacher.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
