After seeing this film, I have to admit that the next season of directors for horror pictures have a run for their money. The creators of the movie 'IT' are leaving upcoming artists a huge challenge for what's next in regards to all artistic categories; including acting, scare level and plot development.
The movie 'IT' is designed for every child's and audience members fear. Each character in the movie has a horrible fear that Penny Wise preys on. The mini trailers made it seem like a straight clown thriller, although, some of the scariest moments were the scenes when Penny Wise wasn't even present. Instead, audience members experience monsters from creepy paintings and trash infested environments which were all too real to even watch.
The kid actors are extraordinary. Many of the scenes are extremely dark and very emotionally heavy yet each actor takes the scene to a highly produced level. The vibe of the entire talent is very much like Stranger Things. If you liked the TV show, then you'll definitely like this (and probably have a new favorite child actor too).
On the contrary, many of the transitions are choppy, particularly in the beginning of the film. One can tell that the director and writer(s) were trying to incorporate each kid into the story, but there came the point when many audience members could guess how the scene would form out and it would end. This affect was occurred simply because the same eerie situations happened with every, single character.
In regards to the details, the costume work brings meaning to each kid, and the music choice of the scenes are blissful. There are tons of significant elements in regards to CDGI and overall feel of the entire set. The setting of the town Stephen King created is messed up, but the designers of this film did a consistent job of making it realistic and also just downright elusive.
