OK, Hear Me Out: It Is OK To Not Be OK

It is getting to that time of year again where the world seems to be crashing down.

OK, Hear Me Out: It Is OK To Not Be OK

We all know that for anyone in school whether it be high school or undergraduate or graduate, the end of one semester and the beginning of the other is super difficult. All your assignments are do, everyone is super stressed between work and class and personal relationships that we all turn into monsters. Basically eating each other alive.

When you are feeling stressed or upset it is okay to feel that way. Even if your friends and family are also super stressed and cranky and you don't feel like you can tell them what is going on. It is okay. Yes, you are supposed to be there for them, but they are also supposed to be there for you.

Everyone at one point or another does not feel okay. AND THAT IS OKAY.

It is part of life. As American in this time period, we feel that we have to constantly be going and constantly have a smile on our faces. But seriously take a step back, take a deep breath and figure everything out. If you need a day to just breathe and be lazy, TAKE IT. If you need a day to go out and be reckless, DO IT.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO VALIDATE EVERYTHING.

Take action in your life and do what is going to make you happy, not what everyone else thinks is the right thing to do. Make those hard choices, cut those toxic people out of your life. But make sure you know that it is okay to do it all. It is okay to be upset about a boy, or a grade. It is okay to want to do nothing. It is okay to want to change your major or entire plan.

So when the end of the semester blues come out, and you feel alone and like you can't do it. Know that you can. You can do it, you will figure your life out and it will be okay. It might take some time. It might be difficult but it will happen. Use your resources, your friends, your family, write things down, breathe, go to the gym, read a book, meditate, take a day off. Do what you need to do to make it through.

Keep your head up, enjoy the holidays, and just breathe.

Everything can only go up from here.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
