The Beach Is Always A Good Idea

Regardless what time of year it is, the beach is always a good idea.

1. You forget all of your troubles.

No matter what beach you're at, whether it be at the Virgin Islands or the Jersey Shore, there's something about the waves.

2. Everyone is always in a good mood.

You can make friends or start a conversation with anyone because people are just happy about the fact that they're in paradise.

3. You can live in a bikini.

They're easy to pack, you can mix and match, and there are tons of different patterns; the less clothes, the better.

4. Everything is readily available.

Food, entertainment, bars, games, there are always so many activities to do, and you'll never get bored.

5. You are always tan!

Being under the sun for hours every day, you're bound to get sun-kissed skin. I am half Italian, so as long as I put on sunscreen, I can get a pretty good tan. However, the other half of me is Irish, so if I forget, I burn... bad.

6. Being with family is always a positive experience.

No matter how many of your family members go on vacation with you, it's always going to be a good time. Spending quality time with your family is so important and even if you fight, you'll know it'll quickly get resolved.

7. You're around some of the best restaurants and seafood there are.

Going out to eat, seeing live music, or even just catching your own seafood in the ocean will be so much better than any seafood you get in your hometown (unless you live in a beach town).

8. There are so many types of ocean activities to get involved in.

Whether it be running on the beach, swimming, body boarding and surfing, wave running, parasailing, dolphin or whale watching, anything that gets me out in the ocean is a plus in my book.

9. If you visit the same beach town every year, you call it a second home.

My family goes to the same beach town every year; we even used to go twice a year. I call that place my second home because I've been going there since I was 8, and I know where everything is as if it was my home town.

10. At the end of the day, you want to move there.

My mom has talked about moving to the beach for the past two years, and I always send her homes and condos from realtor.com. I've had a little glimmer of hope we would somehow be able to afford a summer home at the beach.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
