The Daily Issues of Having No Filter

And no, I'm not talking about Instagram.

The Daily Issues of Having No Filter

We all have that friend with no filter, and quite frankly I'd have to say—it's me.

Here is a list of the daily issues people will no filter face:

Your mind is always wandering. People will say something a little off the deep end, but then you contribute and everyone's like, "Woah, you took that too far, like wayyy too far."

You value honesty. You don't talk behind people's backs as often as other people because you're more than likely to just say it to their face.

You find yourself walking on eggshells around sensitive people. You don't want to add a filter because then that means not being yourself. Being a person with no filter means absolutely nothing gets held back.

Sometimes people get extremely offended by what you say, but in your mind you actually put it into really nice terms. People will get mad at you and say "Well, that was harsh" and in your mind you're thinking "Wow, I'm glad I sugar coated that one."

People can never tell when you're being serious or joking around. You find yourself accidentally pushing people's buttons often, because you don't really have many buttons to be pushed yourself.

You're the friend that people come to and say "You'll be honest with me, how do I look?" Which is 100 percent true since you expect the same in return.

You're basically always the butt of the joke, because they know you can take it, and they know you don't care. My friends rip on me all. the. time.

With that, you're actually usually going to beat them to the punch. Nobody likes someone that can't laugh at themselves. Only difference is, you're laughing at yourself all the time.

Meeting new people is always a gamble. People either love you or hate you. You just have to accept the fact that a lot of people do not enjoy friends with no filter—even though you probably didn't like them first.

Going on dates is kind of hilarious. For the first couple of dates you're extremely nervous that the real you will come out and you'll say something normal in your mind but totally absurd in theirs. Of course, wine doesn't help.

If you're not in a really upbeat, crazy mood then everyone immediately thinks you're depressed. Hey, we all have our introverted moments.

Your best friends are your friends that share no filter. You basically share an extremely inappropriate relationship with absolutely no boundaries. Anything and everything is shared even if it's completely crazy.

It's really awkward when you say something hilarious, and no one else finds it remotely funny. However, you don't really care what people think so you find yourself cracking up alone anyways.

You find yourself constantly wondering why people take life too seriously. Your way of comforting people is usually by comic relief or getting extremely deep depending on how much you like the person.

When you meet adults you find that people are always giving you weird looks as if to say "I cannot believe you just said that."

So, this is me apologizing for myself and the rest of the people in the world who completely do not understand what a filter is.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about.
