I have always been a lover of films. Anything for the arts I totally love. All this viewing is from the works of Netflix of course. One of my favorite writers/directors is an extremely talented woman named Issa Rae. She is best known as being the creator of a Youtube series called Awkward Black Girl and going on the create, write, and star in her HBO hit Insecure ( which is one of my favorite shows).

She also works on many other projects one of them being Short Film Sunday. Short Film Sundays is content Issa Rae has on her channel where she invites filmmakers to submit and be featured on the channel. So if you are into film making I would check that out by the way.

Some of my honorable mentions as followed are:

Dream

Sinking Ships by Marian Mereba.

Issa Rae also has a section within Short Film Sundays Called "We Are-"

The "we are" parts changes for each film being

We Are - Artists

and

We Are - Friends

Both are pretty interesting films. But furthermore, if you just explore the Short Film Sundays in the world of Youtube you will find all sorts of content. The films may not be super active like a action pack motion picture but they are deep and meaningful. They just display the everyday life of people of color in different scenarios.

So if you are just looking for deep content to explore on Youtube I highly recommend checking Issa Rae's Short Film Sunday out. It is well worth it!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
