"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:31
How many times a day do you take this wonderful life you were given for granted? How often do you truly reflect on the everlasting love of the greater being who lives within and around you? Do you even know how blessed you are?
We, as human beings, are completely and utterly unworthy of being loved by such an all-powerful God. We deserve to die with no point of refuge in sight, and with no hope of a true salvation. But, that is the glorious thing about this life. We are loved even when we don't love. We are given the ability to be saved by a God who is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent; all-knowing, all-pervasive, and all-powerful. How incredible.
The first sentence of Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." This one sentence professes the entirety of our eternal calling. How blessed are we that we get to put our faith in something so vast and so deep? How blessed are we that we live among a God who will supply us with eternal strength just by putting our hope in Him?
We are physically and mentally incapable of possessing such a strength to deal with all our trials. It is not your own strength that gets you through the bad days; it is God's. Oh, what a God we serve that fills us up with HIS strength. What is your life if you are not living it through God? You will never be able to defeat your demons if you are trying to do so without living a life of worship and praise to the one who died for you.
When God lives within you, your demons will NEVER touch you. So, even when you feel like your life is caving in around you, I can assure you that you will NEVER be alone. When you accept Jesus into your life, your name is written in the Book of Life...in PEN. It cannot nor will it ever be erased. We are so unworthy and yet every sin we have ever committed or have yet to commit, is forgiven. God says they are as far from Him and from you as the east is from the west, so completely out of sight. How could you not put your hope in a God who loves you in spite of and because of your flaws?
"They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." This verse ensures that you can do anything and everything when you walk alongside God. Don't you want to have a strength so powerful and so pure that nothing can stand against you?
Isaiah 40:31 is the perfect representation of how we are to hope in God, and the eternal reward that comes from that hope. What an almighty God we believe in, that He gives us everything we DON'T deserve! What a gracious God, that He would send His one and only son to die on a cross, innocent and accused, for a population of people, of which most will deny His existence. How can we be so selfish?
What a world we live in, where people are so loved and yet they fail to hope in the only thing that can truly save their souls. Can you not see the beautiful blessings that are laid out before you? Can you not see that God has a greater purpose for your life, if you will just put your trust in Him?
This verse tells you that, you will run and NOT grow weary and you will walk and NOT be faint. Now, no, this does not mean that you can run and never feel tired. This, instead, is touching on the idea of running and walking with God on a spiritual level. When you choose to be one with the Lord in Heaven, you will never truly cease to exist, but instead you will have eternal life. You will never be touched by your enemies, because you will be on top of a mountain that can't moved, one that they will never succeed in climbing. You will soar on wings like eagles, BECAUSE you will be untouchable!
His love for you is so immense, that your strength becomes never failing. How could you not hope in a God so righteous?
There are nearly 800,000 words in the Bible, and over 31,000 verses; and this one verse, consisting of 32 words, sums up the immensity of God's love for you. It shows you what putting your hope in God does for your eternal salvation, as well as for your life on earth. God is 100% moving in your life, even if you are not moving in your walk with Him. Knowing what you now know, how could you consciously put your hope in anything other than God?
