Charlton Heston once said,"political correctness is tyranny with a happy face." Soon, we will be living in a time where bisexual prostitutes are known as equal opportunity sexual care givers, the perverted are sexually dysfunctional, the dishonest are ethically disoriented, and the overweight are metabolic overachievers.
Today, schools no longer use the long-adopted term, blackboard. Instead, they are referred to as chalkboards in order to avoid unintentionally insulting students of dark skin tones. School janitors are now known as sanitation engineers. Despite the properly raised child who is taught to uphold the same respect for a janitor that they are to give the school principle or their favorite teacher.
Moreover, while right wing protests are called riots, left wing riots are referred to as protests. As we shout "equality" at the top of our lungs, this is the farthest thing efforts in the name of political correctness appear to deliver, especially within the media and our political system. Yes, Roseanne Barr's racist Twitter statement against Valerie Jarrett was inexcusable and the cancellation of her revived television show was merely a slap on the wrist. However, "Roseanne" was one of few, if not the only modern show that openly supported Republicans. Though short lived, right wing viewers took to the show's lack of political corectness as a breath of fresh air compared to the near-constant regurgitation (ahem, unplanned re-examination of the recently consumed) of liberal viewpoints from the news, TV shows, commercials, movies, social media, and celebrities.
As the outbreak of pandemic liberalism continues, political correctness infiltrates every depth of our lives. An insult whether intentional or unintentional is now considered emotional rape. At what point do we draw the line? The age-old saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" apparently no longer stands as generation after generation continues to shelter their children from the seemingly uncontrollable. What will this mean for those children when they come of age? Surely, they will face the judgment and criticism of others that represent the non-negotiable prerequisites to adulthood. To cease holding opinions and descriptions outside of foul use goes against nature. The decision to abandon the continuance of allowing the words of others to run deep is a conscious choice to be made by the individual.
