When Pokémon GO first came out on Android and IOS systems the whole world went on a rampage about it. Every adult and child was walking everywhere trying to catch that Gyarados or hatch the rare 10k eggs. The goal was to catch all 150 Pokémon just like Ash in the TV show. Every trainer wants to fill up their pokedex.
The popularity for this game is making the company about 2 million each day but the download rate compared to the release date has dropped about 10%. The Pokémon Company has released a new update for both Android and IOS systems three days ago. They updated the capture rate, so when the player catches a wild Pokémon of certain type multiple times, the player will get a bonus. For an example, if you (catch 10 of one type) reached “bronze”, which gives you a +1 “catch bonus” for that specific type. So if you capture say 50, you will receive silver and +2. Now if you want “gold” status, you have to catch 200 of one specific type of Pokémon, and you will get +3, on your bonus. The other update was just buffering out gym training, which is now easier to do. Also when fighting in a gym, you can now use six of your pokémon.

Pokémon GO has been predicted as a fad and it will disappear when the New Year comes. Well those predictions are somewhat true and false. The Pokémon Company does have a plan for next year and a new update, but the question is will there be players still playing the game for it to be successful next year.
Niantic has stated that Pokémon GO will be releasing new creatures from generation two by 2017. Ahmad (a Pokémon GO designer and narrative creator in the studio) stated in an interview that, "This is page one of chapter one," he said. The designer also iterated that they're adhering to "the vision of how to build a community game" that is based on the augmented reality principles.
The future for this mobile app looks bright and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon.
