"Community" has had one of the most unstable runs on television I've ever seen. It had an amazing three-season run with Dan Harmon calling the shots before NBC decided to fire him just before season four. This season didn't perform nearly as well and Dan Harmon was asked to come back to breathe some life into a show that was killed by NBC. Tried as he might, Dan couldn't bring the same energy into season five, especially with the departure of Chevy Chase and Donald Glover. Nevertheless, season five was met with an astounding "okay" and thought to be declared finished.
Until the most unlikely thing happened
It's pretty common for bigger streaming companies to pick up shows to beef their lineup to entice people into watching it. Sadly, the worst of the worst bought out the only hope Community fans had, and this company is none other than "Yahoo Screen," a half-asses streaming service that no one used. So season six finishes on "Yahoo Screen" with a whole five people watching because it's "Yahoo Screen", but the fans had something on their minds.
Six seasons and a movie
Throughout the show, there is a common mantra brought up again and again, and it's the characters promising the viewers "six seasons and a movie". While it's a funny joke, there might actually be a real shot at a movie happening. Recently, "Community" was brought to Netflix and it has blown up. There's finally life inside this show again, people are talking about it, compilations are everywhere on YouTube, it's great. With all this talk the question had to be asked: will there ever be a movie?
The answer? Maybe
With this resurgence of popularity, the question was brought up to pretty much anyone involved with "Community," and pretty much everyone asked gave the same exact answer, the answer? They're all willing to be apart of it, even the Russo brothers who were responsible for the first couple seasons said they'd love to be apart of it. By the way, if that name sounds familiar it's most likely because they made the two biggest movies of all time those being "Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame." It's a stretch, but I would really like to see a final send-off to one of my favorite shows of all time. Here is a recent article about the "Community Cast" and a table-read they did for COVID-19 relief charities, and you might not like what Donald Glover said regarding the possible movie.
