Irrational Thoughts I have While Flying

I assume my plane will plummet and that's okay.

Flying can be terrifying. No matter how safe everyone says flying is, I cannot help but to think of every worst thing that can happen to me while I am up in the air. These feelings are amplified when I am not accompanied by an adult to calm me down and tell me how stupid these thoughts are. So, here are some of the most irrational thoughts I have and will continue to have when I fly alone.

  1. What if I get kidnapped on the way in? No one will even know, because there are hundreds of people here.
  2. Do I look suspicious? Will they think I am trying to bring something bad on the plane?
  3. Why am I smiling at everyone? Now I look really suspicious.
  4. Maybe I’ll sit next to a celebrity. That would make me feel better.
  5. Great, I am sitting alone, which means I will die alone here.
  6. Taking off is the worst.
  7. Yup, my body is going to get sucked out of this window and that’ll be it.
  8. Okay, the take off is over, now I can relax for a minute.
  9. Now my ears hurt.
  10. 10. What if my hear drum bursts all the way up here and everyone gets grossed out.
  11. 11. I hate the clouds.
  12. 12. The plane is shaking and we are going down.
  13. 13. Here we go, this is really it.
  14. 14. Look calm; don’t look like you’re freaking out.
  15. 15. Okay it’s smooth again.
  16. 16. That doesn’t mean we are in the clear though.

No matter what, I will be worried while I am in the air. We are not birds, which means we were not made to be that high up. While I do trust those who fly my planes, I will never let my guard down and will always be ready for that possible plummet. And no matter how old I get, I will always think these things because it’s just natural.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
